Austin Sports Medicine Welcomes Our New Orthopedic Surgeons!

September is bringing big changes for the Austin Sports Medicine family! We would like to proudly introduce two amazing new orthopedic surgeons that have joined our team. Please join us in welcoming Drs. Jimenez and Gillman to our fantastic team of Austin, Texas orthopedic doctors and surgeons.

Christopher L. Jimenez, MD – Chris is a native Texan from San Antonio, specializing in surgery of the pelvis, hip and knee.  His areas of expertise are total joint replacements for the hip and knee and hip preservation surgery including the Bernese Periacetabular Osteotomy for treatment of hip dysplasia.  Dr. Jimenez completed a prestigious fellowship in Santa Monica, CA with Dr. Joel Matta and Dr. Edward McPherson where he learned advanced techniques for anterior approach total hip replacement, total knee replacement and revision surgeries.  He also had extensive training in the management of acetabular and pelvic trauma and hip preservation surgery during his fellowship.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio and his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  He then completed a surgical internship at Rush in Chicago, IL followed by orthopedic residency training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.  His residency training gave him the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty where he learned different techniques for hip preservation and joint replacement surgeries.

Brad Gillman, MD, a native of Plymouth, Wisconsin, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville with honors.  Dr. Gillman graduated medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University at Shreveport.

He then completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  To finish his training, Brad completed a highly coveted Shoulder and Elbow fellowship at UT San Antonio, learning advanced techniques in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, arthroplasty and reconstruction.  He is a member of the American Society of Surgery of the Hand and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  Dr. Gillman does not only treat upper extremity injuries, but will help you overcome any orthopedic injury.

In his free time, he enjoys swimming and working out.  He is an advanced SCUBA diver with rescue diver certification and enjoys traveling and he is excited to make Austin his home.
