Christopher L. Jimenez, MD, a native Texan from San Antonio, is an Austin orthopedic surgeon, specializing in surgery of the pelvis, hip and knee. His areas of expertise are total joint replacements for the hip and knee and hip preservation surgery including the Bernese Periacetabular Osteotomy for treatment of hip dysplasia. Dr. Jimenez completed a prestigious fellowship in Santa Monica, CA with Dr. Joel Matta and Dr. Edward McPherson where he learned advanced techniques for anterior approach total hip replacement, total knee replacement and revision surgeries. He also had extensive training in the management of acetabular and pelvic trauma and hip preservation surgery during his fellowship.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio and his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then completed a surgical internship at Rush in Chicago, IL followed by orthopedic residency training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. His residency training gave him the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty where he learned different techniques for hip preservation and joint replacement surgeries.
