Sam is originally from the Texas Hill Country, where she grew up watching her dad coach high school football and basketball. She moved to Austin in 2005 where she attended the University of Texas. She graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Biology minor, making the Dean’s list her last 5 semesters there. However, her greatest award was meeting her husband at UT, where they played on the same intramural flag football team. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Since graduating with her DPT in 2012, she has solely worked in the outpatient orthopedic field in Austin. She joined the Austin Sports Medicine team in 2014 and is currently working towards her Orthopedic Clinical Specialty through the American Physical Therapy Association. She has also widened her clinical skills through continuing education in Manual Therapy.
This coach’s daughter turned coach’s wife spends her spare time following her husband’s high school basketball team. The two of them welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in December 2015.
