Originally from the Texas Hill Country, Sam grew up watching her dad coach high school football and basketball. Her background as a coach’s daughter and athlete helped her develop a life-long love for sports. She moved to Austin in 2005 where she attended the University of Texas and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology.
Sam earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012 and has since gone on to become a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. She joined the Austin Sports Medicine Team in 2014 and now serves as the Director for the physical therapy department. Sam continues to be passionate about the field of physical therapy and impacting people’s lives directly as a practitioner, and from a broader approach by fostering the Austin Sports Medicine staff’s professional development and creating a patient-centered approach for the department.
This coach’s daughter turned coach’s wife spends her spare time following her husband’s high school basketball team and caring for their young family.
